Episode 5: The Shirley Temple Version
This week, Destiny and Rhea talk books, zines, manga, and book-to-movie adaptations. Also, Destiny struggles to think of her four favorite movies and Rhea goes off on Luna Lovegood. Number of fucks in this episode: 31 If you’re in the Omaha area, and are interested in joining the Letter Writing Club that Destiny wants to start, email us at badlandgirls at gmail dot com.
Spoiler alerts for the following:
Jumanji
Zathura
Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull
Corrections: Destiny is sad to see she mixed up Alfonso Cuaron and Alejandro González Iñárritu. She was totally thinking of Y tu mamá también, which also starred Gael Garcia Bernal. The Project Greenlight movie with Shia LaBeouf was called The Battle of Shaker Heights. There were 5 Indian in the Cupboard books. We couldn’t remember the complete title of From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. I think we mispronounced “Zathura” a handful of times. Marc Maron’s book came out in 2001. Harriet the Spy was published in 1964. The deuteragonist of Mysterious Skin is named Brian.
